About JAYCE

Who
We Are.
Why
It Matters.

JAYCE is a Charlotte, NC-based consulting firm built around one belief: frontline supervisors are the most underleveraged asset in plastics manufacturing. When supervisors lead with structure, discipline, and data, everything else improves — scrap rates, uptime, changeover variance, and margin.

The SHIFT Training System is how we put that belief into practice — one plant, one supervisor cohort, 12 weeks at a time.

“We simplify complexity so you can focus on what matters most — innovating and growing your business.”

30+ Years
on the Manufacturing Floor.

Jim Chapman brings over three decades of hands-on experience in the manufacturing sector. His career is defined by one consistent pattern: finding the gap between what supervisors are expected to do and what they are actually equipped to do — and closing it.

Jim has led operational turnarounds, implemented lean manufacturing programs, and built workforce development systems across plastics and manufacturing companies of all sizes. The SHIFT Training System is the culmination of that work — a distillation of everything he has learned about what actually changes behavior on the floor vs. what looks good in a training binder.

Based in Charlotte, NC, Jim works directly with every JAYCE client — on-site, on your shifts, with your supervisors. There is no delegation to junior staff. You get Jim on your floor.

Our Philosophy

One Door.
Many Rooms.

“People tend to go wide in their offerings, not deep. We chose deep.”

Jim Chapman, Founder

Most consulting firms list every service they can imagine and hope something sticks. We made the opposite bet: one specific, proven program for one specific audience — and execute it better than anyone else.

SHIFT gets us in the door. Once we’re on the floor for 12 weeks, we see everything — supply chain gaps, tooling budget problems, change management issues. Those become natural conversations. But we earn them through execution, not a services menu.

That’s the model. Depth before breadth. Results before relationships.

  • Behavior changes before culture changes

You cannot train your way to a better culture. You build the behaviors — floor walks, handoffs, standups — and the culture follows from the discipline.

  • Artifacts over opinions

If a supervisor can’t show you the document, the behavior didn’t happen. We build verifiable proof into every single week of SHIFT.

  • The floor is where it’s won or lost

Strategy matters. But the margin is made or lost on the shift floor, at the press, during the handoff. That’s where we work.

  • We leave when you don’t need us

Week 12 ends with peer knowledge transfer. The system runs without us. If it doesn’t, we haven’t done our job. That accountability is built into the program design.

  • ROI is the only metric that matters

Every behavior in SHIFT connects to a margin outcome. Not engagement scores. Not training hours logged. Scrap rates. Uptime. Changeover variance. That’s the scorecard.

Core Values

What We Stand On

01

Excellence

We deliver innovative solutions that raise the standard of quality and performance. There is no acceptable shortcut between a problem and a real fix.

Colossians 3:23 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
02

Integrity

Trust is built through honesty, transparency, and ethical practices. We tell clients what they need to hear — not what is easiest to say.

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
03

Innovation

We embrace creativity and stay ahead of trends to foster advancement. SHIFT itself is the product of challenging how workforce development has always been done.

Proverbs 8:12 “I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions.”
04

Improvement

Learning, development, and continuous enhancement drive our success — and the success of every supervisor who completes the SHIFT program.

1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
05

Sustainability

We build systems that outlast our presence. A program that collapses when the consultant leaves is not a solution — it is a dependency.

Genesis 2:15 “And the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”
06

Customer Focus

Understanding your unique plant, your supervisors, and your margin pressures allows us to deliver solutions that actually fit — not templates dropped from above.

Philippians 2:2 “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”

This structure means you always get senior-level attention on your challenges — not junior consultants learning on your dime. And it means we can scale our expertise to match your specific situation, whether that’s a 12-week SHIFT engagement or a broader operational transformation.
